(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 22 Nov 2012) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, cacao and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, cacao, coffee and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well made stout, with lots of chocolate. Nice one.

At the Brewpub. Almost opaque dark red - brown beer. Little pale tan head. Mild chocolatey roast malt. Palate is light and a little dry. Nice light touch with the dark malts. Tiny bit of roast and coffee. Very mild dark chocolate - not sweet. Mild fruits including candyish red berries. Gets a little sweeter before the semi dry finish. An interesting and light stout.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Very dark murky mahogony brown with a thin tan head that reains well. Nose is dark malts, hops, light chocolate notes, touch of pine. Taste follows nose, good chocolate beat to this one, light roast malt, touch of coffee. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate, soft carbonation. A decent hoppy chocolate mash up!

Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry to finish with light minerals, chalk, baking cocoa, mellow roasted malts. Decent stout.
