Bottle from B&M Bargains, Halifax. Golden with a thin head. Clean enough tasting lager malts, nothing extraordinary to see here though.

330ml bottle: BBE Jan 2022. Drank at home during a random tasting session with myself on 19th Mar 2021. Full on golden body, clean, clear and bright; Fast fading white crown on top. Malty feel to this one, semi-sweet Lager and not too shabby to be honest.

Have boycotted Sadlers beers since the brewery was closed, and production moved to Hakwshead a couple of years go. This is my first beer since that. “Brewed in the Black Country since 1861” it says on the bottle – wrong on more than one count ! Anyway, has a malty aroma, with hints of lemongrass. Pours a pale lemon yellow with minimal white head. Not much happening in the mouth ewither – dominant flavours is vegetable stock with metallic undertones. Some malts as well. Finish is rather peppery. One step up from a macro lager, that’s all.

330ml bottle. Gold, small white head, good retention, high carbonation. Aroma of malts, herbs, grass. Taste is lager malts, vegetable extract, grass, light herbal note. Ok body. Average but still better than standard commercial lagers.
