Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that year’s finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.
The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised [sic] orange palate and finishes with a creamy vanilla warmth.

Impressively drinkable fresh! Often these vintages are a little rough around the edges fresh but this one is great! Wonderful caramel malts, pungent holdings, and some great subtle fruits. Super well balanced and incredibly smooth.

Bottle from the source as part of the Vintage Ales of Xmas. An abundance of dried fruits with some kinda sherry barrel vibes, but overall it's quite muddled in flavour. Moderate + sweet, light dry on the palate. It's not lasted as well as some of the others

Bottle at Norrie's. Pours clear deep amber, nose is caramel, toffee, marzipan, taste is chewy toffee, nutty, sweet, bready.

8-4-7-4-15 Bottle, #065777, eleven years after bottling. Shared with Inbreak and friends. Pours clear copper orange, with an off white creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts with bread, toffee, marzipan and raisins, as well as some citrusy notes with orange peel. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with caramels and bread, as well as kandi, almonds, heather and some herbal notes of liquorice.

EB. OMT Advent Day 10 - 10 years old. Nice notes of caramel, honeydrizzled walnuts and Madeira but also some cardboard that definitely bugs you. Good for how old it is and still drinkable.

Bottle. Amber color. Malty, slightly salty toffee aroma. Malty sweetish buttery and alcoholic flavor with pinches of salt and cookie dough. Hints of mint and butter cookies in the aftertaste. Nice one.

Bottle from Theydon Bois. Been waiting, and couldn't wait any longer. Medium brown, just a few bubbles. Aroma is nutty, sweet, tobacco, leather, malt. Taste brings mild booze, dry leaves, light sweet malt . Drying finish. Rich and smooth. Aged very well.

50cl bottle, consumed January 2019, pours a garnet amber with a ring of white head. Nose has port off the top, raisins, dried cherries, malt, caramel. Flavor has cherry soda/Cheerwine, port, caramel, some cracker, cinnamon too. Full bodied, lightly boozy finish. Held up well. 8 4 8 4 15

500ml bottle, generously provided by Fin. Pours hazy dark brown with a medium thick beige head, great retention. Aroma of dried fruits, raisin, caramel, sugar. Taste is sweet, dried fruits, raisin, malts, caramel, mild spices, brown sugar, finish is moderately bitter. Full bodied, average carbonation. At 8 years old this is an excellent beer, age probably really benefits this beer. Cheers Fin!
