Our first stout from the church. Elmer is a new money ticker stout. Big, bold yet creamy and smooth by a careful addition of nitro. Fermented with English ale yeast and a blend of European and American specialty malts, this beer is caramel first and roast second. Costa Rican coffee courtesy Per Norby, Madagascan vanilla and heaps of toasted coconut. Turn can up side down twice before opening to release nitro.

Can (6/1/22) pour from Friar Tuck, Crestwood. It’s a thick, inky black with nice viscosity, thin cap of light brown head and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, lactose, and vanilla and hint of coconut. Taste is strong sweet malt, chocolate, lactose and vanilla with hint of dark fruit and coconut. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture soft carbonation, slightest esophageal heat, and sweet finish as taste. Overall, strong aroma and flavor are present for everything advertised except the coconut. Nice dessert sipper that’s thick but not overly sweet.

330ml can. Sweet, creamy with lactic notes, milk sugar, vanilla, coconut, burnt malts, syrup and coffee notes. Heavy and a bit boozy. Too much lactic notes here.

330mL can, pours black with a tiny head. Aroma brings out plenty of coconut, lactose and vanilla, with a touch of coffee. Flavour is extremely sweet, with lots of lactose and coffee upfront, accentuated by a bit of coconut and a hint of vanilla. The coffee and lactose sweetness are most prominent. The sweetness is high, but somehow avoids being cloying. And the ABV is quite well-hidden. Drinkable in small amounts. Over the top, but a nice dessert stout.

High pressure can, but no gusher. Glossy black with a dense creamy head. Smell is sweet, caramellyness, coffee, vanilla. Thick and creamy body, bit of carb. Taste is sweet of course, lovely cappaccino flavours, light coconut, sweet vanilla. Balanced, yum.

Thick, creamy, moderately sweet, boozy. Coconut, some cappuccino, lots of vanilla. Pretty smooth and in balance, knockoff kahlua in the finish. Very nice.
