Bottle from Tesco Leith [020813]
Amber, clear , thin white head, little lacing
Aroma - soft yeasts, light caramel malts, hint of grassy hops
Taste - caramel malts, sweet fairly fruity malts, soft yeast, some tangy citrus but rather non-descript
Palate - Soft carb, medium body. Finish as main flavour, clean finish
Overall - Not an IPA, just a sweet caramelly malty bitter with a few extra citrus hops thrown in to gave a bit of a tang. It’s not awful but very average - the sort of type of stronger beer to be seen at Spoons. Try again.

Smell of hops. Golden colour, small white head. Very mild aroma considering alcohol level. Aroma of hops, citrus, some spruce. Almost watery. Flat carbon. Slightly bitter.

Bottle in garden, 6th July 2013. Pretty much as expected, not great, but drinkable, fine for knocking back at a BBQ

Doskonale piwo IPA z Walii. Ten styl w Angli jest juz malo popularny ale dobrze ze na wyspach sa ludzie ktorzy dalej je tworza. Ta wersja w stylu amerykanskim jest mosno wytrawna i goryczkowa. Malo zmetnienia niestety, i niewielka pianka. Ale smak i zwlaszcza finisz wszystko wynagradza.

Bottle from Tesco. Poured a dark amber with a thin white head. The aroma is malty and a little hoppy leading to a medium bitter flavour with lots of hops and a nice bitter palate. Deserves a higher rating IMO.

33cl bottle from Morrisons. Golden amber with a ring of white head; the aroma is spicy and malty, with traces of raw alcohol; the body is sweet and malty with some orangey fruit; the hops are definitely there but do not make much of an effort, adding some boiled cabbage before a dry and lightly spiced finish with a touch of citrus. Good to see a major brewer experimenting like this, but they are someway off the mark.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Soho, BBE 08/2013
Aroma has fruits, English hops, hay and toffee. Flavour has English hops, hay, toffee and some nettles. "An American style IPA" says the label but this is still too british.
