500 ml. bottle. Slightly sour, nutty, somewhat roasted malt aroma. Hazy red amber color with a decent beige head. Medium body with very creamy carbonation. This is something like an old ale. Think Galeโs Prize Old Ale. Itโs malty, slightly sour, heading for dark fruit characteristics. Mmmm. Finish is heading towards dry, and there seems to be floral hop bitter. Bitter builds up with time. Quite the treat. Note: This is bottle conditioned, so itโs not likely to go off. It will age, and not taste like young/green ales. Suggests Fullers 1845 in a much less malty way.

Pours dark amber into an English pint. Off-white micro head with excellent retention keep a steady head. Sour fruit and malt aromas. Tastes like it smells...sour apple upfront with a lasting sour/hop finish.

Cask at The Anchor Inn, Oakerthorpe, Derbyshire. An inviting dark ruby colour with a beige head; warm fruit and caramel flavours, but slightly dry at the same time; smooth and easy to drink.

October 04 picked up a bottle from the pub attached to the brewery. Dark brown quite malty in both aroma and flavour little bit on the dry side. Not bad but nothing special.

Bottle Conditioned
Dark amber color; thin head. Some malt, light roasted malts and strong caramel character (a bit metallic nose); well bitter in the final, also with some aromatic hop. A pleasant strong Bitter.
