A 33 cl bottle spotted at the under-the-radar local craft beer shop recently. I open the swivel hinge, rubber sealed top, first time I have seen one in many years. I pour into my oldest snifter and see a clear, dark gold body with a respectable top of almost white, very fine bubbles. An interesting smell, honey, grain and a bit of toffee. A drink, well, not quite up to what the nose promised but all right. Malt, a small hoppiness, paper, grain and a hint of sweetness. A subdued presence in all ways but not a bad drink.

330ml bottle from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, cardboard yeast. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a crisp, dry yeasty, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Light to mid-gold and clear. A small layer of white head. Gluey metallic aroma with some lemon and light notes of white grapes. Sweet taste, some light honey, with the lightest bitterness in the long finish. Medium to high carbonation. Not exceptional but decent.

Predictably gold with a frothy white head that soon fades. Aroma is grainy with a hint of bear. Taste is mildly bitter with some underlying bready sweetness. The clean, crisp note at the finish is the highlight, but on the whole this is entirely unremarkable.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a large creamy yellow-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with a vegetal note and a hint of perfume. The flavor was sweet and tangy with a vegetal note, light bitterness and some astringency. Medium length finish. Medium bodied and smooth.
