A light-bodied brew with a light golden hue. Subtle biscuit-like maltiness with a crisp carbonation and tangy Noble hop character with a big enticing aroma. Even though this english-style wheat beer is technically called a "Summer Ale" it is the perfect choice any time you’re looking for something light and refreshing that’s big on flavor but light on body and alcohol.

This special beer was created in collaboration with Ypsilanti’s own Tree Fort Bike Shop and mountain biking team. Arbor Brewing Company has long supported the Michigan Mountain Biking Association and recently became the beer sponsor for the Tree Fort team. So we were thrilled to have the opportunity to create a beer for and to help raise awareness of Michigan’s great mountain biking scene.

We chose the English-style Summer Ale because it is the perfect thirst-quencher after a hard race. It’s sort of the classic lawnmower beer re-imagined for a more sophisticated beer palate. It is proof that you can have a refreshing and quenching brew without compromising flavor.

This beer pours a clear golden-orange color with a medium thin white head that diminishes quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat and grassy hops. Light and crisp body with flavors of mild hops, wheat and yeast. The finish is short and lightly hoppy. Pretty average overall.

Bottle at ABC beer tasting. Aroma was quite malty with a bit of hops. Awkward combination of malts and hops, something seems to be a bit off to me. A metallic taste is present.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of mibirder and shared with a friend. Pours an orangish-yellow color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is earthy, nutty with grassy hops. Taste is musty graininess with strong nutty notes. Mouthfeel is similar to club soda... highly effervescent. Medium bodied.

On tap at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Hazy light orange-brown body, thin buff head. Light cerealy nose with diacetyl notes. Light body with nutty, cerealy notes and grassy hops. Fairly dry, easy to drink, but boring.
