The natural daughter of Saint Landelin, the DIVINE is a golden beer named after the beatified founder of Crespin Abbey, known from the Middle Ages.
As golden as her eldest is blond, as sweet and generous as her eldest is fruity and lively, the Divine is positioned as a true Grand Cru from the Holy Landelin.

Swingtop 750 courtesy cdumler. Amber pour with a medium head. Aroma of candi sugar, fruit and a slightly smoky earthiness. Others trying the same bottle got notes of smoked meat, but I did not. Taste is caramel, stone fruits, candi sugar and spicy hops. Full bodied.

Clear golden pour, with a soapy, lasting head - aroma of honey, spices, alcohol and flowers - the alcohol in the aroma becomes quite apparent as it warms - the flavor is quite sweet, coming across like a mixture of honey and cane sugar - it is very yeasty as well - I’m not really detecting any spices - just sweetness and yeast, followed by alcohol and light bitterness - it tastes like partially fermented, lightly hopped wort - in fact, if it weren’t for the alcohol presence in the finish, I’d forget that this was fermented at all - a light herbal character develops as it warms, making it start to taste like herbal tea with honey in it - a pretty lame beer - I’m beginning to wonder if I have the same beer as some of the other raters - there’s no mistaking that bottle, though.

Bottle courtesy of Tony at OTH. This is another great offering from this French brewery. Not too complex, but it does the job right. Pours blonde. Aroma is fruity, hoppy and earthly. Taste is fruity, perhaps some figues that became more present as the beer warmed up to room temperature. Sweet malt, lightly spicy.

Dull golden-beige. Clear (wtf). Whispy head. Perfumey-caramelly character. Fairly simple. The aroma is mainly light caramel, light mushrooms. Far too boring.

Canned(500ml). -Golden coloured, small white head, some odd light caramel and water melon nose. Very sweet malty, light wheaty and mild fruity taste. Subdued alcohol and light spicy finish. Pretty boring biere de garde.

Bottle, thx to LeoR. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of butter, slight alcohol, some faint hop, some vanilla, slight fruity, slight metallic. Quite sharp taste, bit metallic, malty, bit bitter. Rather dry palate. Quite boring stuff. Way better Biere de Gardes have been made.

Bottle, Carrefour, Lille, France, 29-06-07 Poured golden orange with haze and white head. Unexciting beer that whilst high in strength lacked in other areas, there was spiciness and fruitiness in this beer but for me (and I seem to be going against the grain here) it do little for me, maybe sat in a pub with abottle would have seen me rate this higher than drinking it sat in my hotel room watching Loz snoring.

Unclear orange with a lasting white head. Yeast dominated aroma with bubblegum, pepper, and exotic fruits like mango, melon and pineapple. Dry fruity flavour with a pepper-y dry finish.

An orange beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel and lighter notes of malt and spices. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and spices. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky but still smooth.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear, fully golden with a creamy, off-white head. aroma of yeast and alcohol. Fairly full body, sweetish malty with notes of fruit and honey. And then the added wheat provides a base for banana esters - actually this has almost a Weizen Bock character to it. Distinct yeasty flavour while the strong alcohol is well hidden. 070706
