È bevibile e di facile approccio per la sua categoria di appartenenza grazie al corpo leggero, ancorché dotato di particolare complessità aromatica con note di malto e caramello. Tale risultato è ottenuto mediante l’uso di un processo di produzione che conserva ancora la pratica delle tre miscele di mosto, metodo tradizionale e che richiede tante risorse, ormai quasi in disuso. L’esclusivo processo di fermentazione a bassa temperatura, lungo e complesso, le conferisce un gusto morbido ed unico, che le permette di distinguersi fortemente all’interno della categoria birre rosse.

Okay modest foam, brown body, heavy carbonation. Murky swampy bread aroma. Flavour is sharp dark bread, some plain cake. Sugary but dry finish. Not bad, but not too exciting.

Bottle from Waitrose. Copper in colour, with a decently-sized, white, head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of caramel and weetabix malts. Full mouth feel, with ripe malts, a touch more caramel, suggestion of red berries and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

50cl bottle. Pours transparent red with limited white foam, fine. Aroma is intensely malty. Body is average, with some stickiness and medium carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, but with good carbonation. Finish is relatively long and sweet.

Bottle from shop consumed on train from Genova to Milano 24.07.17. Clear golden orange. Off-white head and lacing. Aroma of dried berries, malt and caramel. Taste of syrup, dried berries and figs. Dry and refreshing. Lively carbonation. Good drinkability.
