È bevibile e di facile approccio per la sua categoria di appartenenza grazie al corpo leggero, ancorché dotato di particolare complessità aromatica con note di malto e caramello. Tale risultato è ottenuto mediante l’uso di un processo di produzione che conserva ancora la pratica delle tre miscele di mosto, metodo tradizionale e che richiede tante risorse, ormai quasi in disuso. L’esclusivo processo di fermentazione a bassa temperatura, lungo e complesso, le conferisce un gusto morbido ed unico, che le permette di distinguersi fortemente all’interno della categoria birre rosse.

Bottle.Clear red, quite pale. Off white head. Aroma of toffeeish and toasty malt, some boiled fruit. Thinnish. Sweet with flavours similar to the aroma. The travel sweet-like fruit is not great but the caramel flavours are quite nice and even hint at richness. But there’s just nothing at the finish.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear copper, tan head. Rich aromatic malts, bit of caramelized sugar, a hint of nuttiness and chalk. Taste: moderate sweetness, malty and very mealy, with a moderate herbal bitterness. Unfortunately, the carbonation makes it feel harsher that it is. Decent.

Aroma is sadly some dust with honey and caramel and roast. Taste is slightly matly sweet and carbonation induced sourness. Medium body, more dust in the finish. Meh.

L’intensità olfattiva è flebile e la persistenza olfattiva è corta. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta, termina con un bel pizzo sul vetro ed è costituita da bollicine medie, a carbonazione bassa. La consistenza del liquido è limpida. Le bollicine sono fini. La carbonazione è media, persistente ed insistita. Il colore è ambrato carico tendente rossiccio, quasi uguale al colore del whisky. Il corpo è pieno. L’amaro è medio. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Il finale è felpato e pulito. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Sul palato arrivano sentori di miele, frutta secca, pompelmo, cereali e caramello.

Bottle @ home shared by Inoven. Clear dark amber color, average sized off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Smell and taste malts, a hint of caramel, leaves, dark raisins, malt bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

Fles meegenomen van vakantie en gedronken met Benzai. Amber kleurig helder bier. Schuimkraag snel weg. Kruidig aroma. Smaak trekt snel weg.

500ml bottle into shaker. Sweet malt nose, notes of milk chocolate and caramel. Deep orange/bronze beer with two finger foamy tan head. Carbonation is lively with fine bubbles. Mouthfeel is flat with initial bitterness. Finish is cleansing with a slight touch of bitterness followed by late late caramel. Great example of the style. Excellent bottle too!
