This traditional bock beer named Fekete is defined by the taste of malts: besides the roasted Münich malt, caramel and adjunct malts add a sweet, roasted flavour. To make the picture a whole, Hallertau hop assures appropriate spiciness, resulting in a strong, full-body beer. The this type first brewed in the mercantile city of Einbeck and later revived by Bavarian brewers named after the city as ein bock. Different versions of bocks are common, Fekete is a traditional dunkelbock.

Sampled @ ChrisO Pre-GBBF Shindig. Opaque dark brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, brown malts, malt bitter. Meh.

Bottle at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig, 2016 (Sunday sesh.). Dark brown pour with a beige head. Earth, bonfire toffee and caramel aroma. Sweet spice, chocolate and caramel flavour. Quite liked this one.

Pre-gbbf-shinding. Klare dunkel orange braune Farbe, geringe beige schaumkrone. Geruch dezent süß malzig, Lakritze. Geschmack süß malzig, schokoladig, toffee, Lakritze.

Bottle @ Beer Company (Kemenes), Budapest. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, nuts and hops. Dry sweet and light bitter finish.

Közepes, nagyon tartós, tejeskávé színű hab, koromfekete szín. Illata enyhe, pörkölt malátás. Pörkölt malátás, kávés ízvilág, de határozottan lágeres mellékízzel is rendelkezik. Némi karamell is érezhető. Utóíze kissé kesernyés és édes, pörkölt malátás és hosszan tartó.

Tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien. Subtle yet firm roast presence both in aroma and flavour. Honeyish and caramel in sweetness, a bit too much for my liking but not off balance. Alcohol hidden well. Clean and good, just not my style.
