This traditional bock beer named Fekete is defined by the taste of malts: besides the roasted Münich malt, caramel and adjunct malts add a sweet, roasted flavour. To make the picture a whole, Hallertau hop assures appropriate spiciness, resulting in a strong, full-body beer. The this type first brewed in the mercantile city of Einbeck and later revived by Bavarian brewers named after the city as ein bock. Different versions of bocks are common, Fekete is a traditional dunkelbock.

dark brown colour, dense brown head - very promising so far; aroma of herbs, caramel, roasted nuts, alcoholic notes and some ash - correct; taste of ash, earth, some malts and alcohol - sorry to say that, but this is horrible!

Medium brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes barely translucent deep dark brown at edges. Earthy oily roughly herbal aroma with licorice and soy sauce notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolate and licorice taste with roasty herbal notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish rough roasty chocolatey aftertaste with earthy burnt mineraly notes. A bit like a steinbier. Drinkable and different. Interesting, harmonic, and well balanced. (0.5l bottle, from Kezmuves Csemege, Budapest.)

Appearance: Black as the deepest dungeon. A nice big beige head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Coffee, mild fruity and roasted dark malt.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet with a fine bitterness. Soft carbonation. Dry texture.
Taste: Lots of coffee and roasted malt. Also some chocolate.
Overall impression: Soild stuff. Schwarzbier is normal not my favourite style. But this was really tasty and well balanced.

0.5l bottle. Coffee, chocolate and dark fruits in the aroma. Taste is like the aroma, but more balanced between dark fruits and chocolate. I remembered it as with more roastyness. A bit weak bodied, but still a very good beer.

Shared 500ml bottle bought in Budapest at Csak a Jó Sór. Fawn-coloured head that left dotted spots behind. Jet black body. Sweet malts with caramel and liquorice to the nose. Dark grainy malts in flavour with a strong impact of sweet and dry liquorice. Very much on the sweet side (Cabin at MS Rügen, Danube River, 01.08.2012).

50cl bottle from Csakajosör. Poured black with a brown thin head. Berries, roasted malt, cherries, licorice in aroma. Flavor has burnt malt, sweet fruity, licorice. Some warmth from the alcohol in the finish. Surprisingly thin.

Bottled, thanks armando629! Near black, small head. The nose is heavy on coffee. Mid sweet with dense, rounded mouthfeel and solid body. Some tar followed by a warming finish with some coffee bitterness. Unusually bold and brave Hungarian microbrew.
