Bottle. Brown color, brown creamy head. Aroma of hazelnut, brown malt and honey. Taste of honey, hazelnut, spice, malts, caramel, anise and butter. Very nice, good scotch.

Dark brown color with small tan head. Malty and a bit spicy smell. Taste is bready, syrupy, very malty, a little bit sweet, dark, and spicy warming in the end. Quite nice.

Appearance is very, very dark brown, opaque, a one finger solid beige head which hangs around for a bit. Aroma- caramel, hint of chocolate cake, vanilla, bread, fruitcake, some booze. Taste- rich fruit cake, roasty, bitter dark chocolate, brown sugar, burnt treacle, toffee, vanilla undertones, fluffy, slightly clingy mouthfeel, sweet finish. Good stuff.

bottle at home. dark brown color, tan head. smell of whiskey, coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruits like figs, some malty sweetness on the smell. full body, oily texture, taste of brown sugar, malty sweetness, whisky, roastiness, dried fruits, figs, light roasty bitterness before the finish, coffee sweet finish, finish has an liqueurish feel. Liked it a lot at first, but if you drink more the sweetness gets too overpowering.

From a 330ml bottle on 15/2/2105 Shared with Butz). Pours a very dark brown with a small to medium head. Has a very malty aroma featuring brown sugar, caramel and toffee. In the mouth, it’s not surprisingly malt driven - more brown sugar, caramel and toffee, some butterscotch, and a touch of honey (which is not that pronounced). Features a moderate bitterness, a sticky palate and lowish carbonation. A very nice sweet scotch ale which needs to warm to be fully appreciated.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour, close to black, with a mediumsized beige fluffy head. Aroma is roasted malts, mild leathery and honeyish notes as well as some berries. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, some bitter floral and fruitiness as well as some honey and mildly leathery notes. Quite a bunch of things in it, but still the result is a quite nice and balanced brew.
