Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Dark brown to black body, with a medium, creamy, beige, not very stable head. Aroma is a bit like a sweet, dark, alcoholic cake, with chocolate, honey, caramel, dried fruits, some coffee. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, smoke, honey, caramel, dark fruits. Mouthfeel is full, oily, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes roasty, bitter and sweet, with some alcohol warmth. Really interesting, intensive ale, that is pretty filling, maybe a bit too filling for my liking. Although a sweet beer, still in a good balance. Overall enjoyable.

Pours a very dark brown color, topped with small tan colored head. The aroma is pleasntly malty, caramel, some spices and little fruits. The taste is sweet at first, a little flat on the carbo, roasted feel and moderate bitterness. Some caramel and alcohol can be also felt. Another OK product by BrewDog, but.... they can do better.

22 ounce bottle. Deep mahogany brown color. Small bubbly tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma has notes of brown baked bread. Upfront, flavor is rich and earthy with notes of soy sauce and roasted nuts. Big, chewy mouthfeel has a woody, coffee-like character. Though the ratebeer style is listed as a scotch ale, this more like a rich complex porter, since there is no smoky peat character at all. Some resiny hops in finish help to balance slightly what is a malt dominated brew. This is a big, rich , heavy, stick-to-your ribs ale that will please malt lovers.
