Chestnut colored beer with yellowish-beige nicely lasting head. Sweet, toffee, caramelly notes in first aroma backgrounded with tropical hoppy, citrussy, slightly minty notes.
First taste is sweeter side – caramelly, raisins, bready, toffee. Tropical, citrussy notes in middle taste. Aftertaste is like Irish Coffee – mildly roasty, creamy and warming.
This dangerously easily drinkable and very enjoyable beer suits perfectly with braised lamb, but aswell with creme brulee.
Recommended serving temp 8-10C

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy mahogany colour, no head. Aroma of raisins, treacle and dates. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Sticky dates and raisins, mustard seeds and salmiak. Warming bitter finish.

Red colour, steady beige head. Lots of toffee in the nose with some dark bread. Medium to full-bodied. Smooth toffeish flavour. Alcohol, bread, hops in the flavour. Strong classic Barley Wine. Potential for ageing.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque nutty brown with a small and creamy, beige head. Lovely oxidized nose of caramel, biscuit, nuts, molasses and overripe fruit. Rich, potent body, more of the above paired with marzipan and an alcohol that tickles the tongue. Not really sweet with quite some hops in the finish. Excellent British style Barley Wine. 190423

Bottle. Coppery brown, smaller tane head, not too lasting. Quite some dry fruits in the nose, raisins, some biscuity notes but not strong. Medium sweetness, biscuity. Moderate bitterness, strong alcohol presence, sharp. Medium body. Boozy all over it. Can't really enjoy it.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 31.08.2025) im 2021-10 getrunken. Dieses American Barley Wine kommt was den Hopfeneinfluss überrascht umgänglich daher. Die Hopfenbitterkeit fügt sich recht stimmig in die leichte malzige Süße und den schweren Getreidenaromen. Nicht schlecht dieses Ale!
