Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma has a slightly tart, cidery touch - and the next sniff reveals quite some diacetyl - yuck. Medium body, sweet caramel, but also diacetyl and a vague tartness indicating a lurking tartness. The looks promised a lot that the beer couldn't deliver....... 080917

Bottle 0.5l. Almost clear, amber colored. AROMA- caramel, malts, fermented apple, raisins. FLAVOR- lightly sour, slightly bitter, caramel, a bit fruity, touch of cardboard. Medium bodied.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle. Clear copper-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bready note and a faint vegetal hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, mild caramel, light toastiness and a mildly drier finish. Light to medium-bodied.

On tap at some market in Riga. Hazy caramel colour with a yellowish off-white head. Caramely aroma with fruity notes, malt and hints of hops. Sweet and caramely with a balanced bitterness. Easy to drink, but too sweet and a bit too much caramel flavour.

500ml bottle from Rimi, Riga. Orange body, large soapy off-white head, that rapidly diminishes. Reisin, hay, cereal, butter and hints of lemon.Tastes of sweet malt, some fruit, butter, honey, coriander and cheese. Round and smooth. (Shared @From Latvia with Alus Beer Session 22.03.12)
