This ale is traditionally highly hopped and robust to survive the long voyage to the Indian sub-continent. The result is a full-bodied Pale Ale with a zesty character. Dark golden in colour, pleasing toffee aromas, and distinctive floral citrus flavours.

On 9th March 2009, from Beer Advocate. Poured into a Albanian Stela vase shapped glass twice. Pale orange/amber, very little head, more of a wisp and collar, off white in colour. I like a beer to have a good foaming head if possible, this failed big time. No big aroma, even as the beer warmed in the glass, some hops and malts but nothing much at all. The taste is very hoppy (for a UK style IPA) and that flavour overides anything and everything else. Although not ’in your face’ it does overpower whatever other hints the brewer has tried to blend in. Medium body for a UK beer, watery/thin for a 5.5% IPA and lacks a bit of texture or complex-ability. Nothing wrong with it, just not as exciting as I’d hoped for.

This was a disappointment. It’s not really an IPA, but tastes more like a pilsner with just a little bit more hops than usual.

Fles 50cl thuis. Zeer hoppig, bitter, wat scherp. Typisch English Ale smaak aanwezig. (3-2013).

Location: Odd looking green bottle (as pictured) from Sparrow, 1/23/13

Aroma: The nose is unexciting, with straw and malt notes plus some musty and grassy hops
Appearance: It pours a clear dark gold color with a sticky white head and some fairly heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes along the same lines, straw and grass, slightly better then the nose, but still unexciting
Palate: The mouthfeel is fairly clean, it drinks smoothly, with a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: I actually thought this one improved a bit as it warmed, as I was originally thinking that it was pretty bad, but it definitely grew on me. It's clearly a British IPA, and the green bottle certainly doesn't help preventing skunkiness, but all in all, it is a decent beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at avrashi’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear deep golden. Aroma with some slightly stale hops, a bit weedy and earthy, a bit of graininess and a bit of cardboard notes. Sweetish flavor, slightly grainy, with some bitter earthy hops. Medium-bodied. OK.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of hop and not much else. Bitter, if watery, taste of hop. Not much to write home about.

Blond beer, little white head. Hoppy aroma, Brittish hops, fugle (?), malts, wort, vitamaltz and biscuit. Bitter, sweet malty flavour. Bitter finish with English hops.
Quite enjoyable. It wouldn’t keep up against a modern IPA, but nice enough in it’s own right.

Dobre IPA, lecz sądziłem że bedzie mocniej nachmielone. W zapachu bardziej pachnie chmielem niż smakuje. Ale ogólnie polecam
