Bottle from Pivoljub, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Shared with Igor and lovely Anja. Dark brown to black, diminishing beige head. Red fruits, barrel, coffee. Very dry, very roasty, heavy on the barrel, dry fruits, alcohol. Roasty kick, full taste. Complex, quite special.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch A. AROMA: dark chocolate aroma with some raisins notes, balanced with a mild sweet malty background. no hop aromas. mild vinous-like aroma. APPEARANCE: dark color and opaque. medium light brown head with good retention and lacing. TASTE: a very nice combination of roasted malt with notes of dark chocolate, some coffee and dried grapes. balanced with a slight sweet background. medium-low bitterness from hops and roasted grains. finishes semi-dry and roasted. PALATE: medium-full body with a velvety texture sensation. medium carbonation and smooth warmth sensation. OVERALL: a very nice and bittersweet imperial stout. recommended.

Flaska från Saveur Bieré. Smak och doft av mörk choklad, starkt kaffe, lakrits, rostad malt, vanilj med toner av torv och rök. Lagom sötma, fin syrlighet, rund och len, komplexa smaker, beska med smak av bitter mörk choklad med rökig ton. Mycket gott!

330ml bottle at home. Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, licorice, chocolate, light dark fruits. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation.

From a 330ml bottle on 18/2/2015. Pours close to black with a small tan head. Has nice chocolatey nose, with some roasted malt, lots of caramel, and a touch of booze. The flavour is powerful - again lots of chocolate (milk and dark), caramel, vanilla, soy, brown sugar, and treacle. It’s very sweet up front but the sweetness is met by a sharpish roasty bitterness, which lingers in the background. The palate is lovely - very creamy, with the carbonation modest. A very enjoyable impy.
