Imperial Stout with an obsidian black colour, luscious texture and full body like outer space mantle. This brew is flavoured with Mexican hot chocolate, which provides a harmonious combination of dark chocolate and cinnamon flavours with a classic roasted malt character. A ritual journey to explore the universe through your past and future back and forth…

"The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death — however mutable man may be able to make them — our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfilment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light." - Stanley Kubrick.

Physical space is also known as the “horror vacui” (“fear of emptiness”). Together with time it constitutes space-time; a boundless four-dimensional continuum in our understanding of the nature of reality through past, present and future. While our past is accessed through memory and recollection, the future is considered inevitable due to the existence of time, which could end at any time. Everything that currently exists is temporary yet unifies past and future as the central link between both sets of events.

96% of the mass of outer space contains dark matter and dark energy, which interacts with low density of particles such as plasma of hydrogen and helium, electromagnetic fields, neutrinos cosmic dust and rays, amongst others. Outer space is presently the nearest we can approach to a perfect vacuum, with no discernible friction, allowing stars, planets, and other celestial bodies to interact and orbit.

Fifty years ago, the American cinematic genius Stanley Kubrick produced and directed the science fiction film “2001: A Space Odyssey”, using cutting edge technology for every single aspect of the film (i.e. use of artificial gravity station, front projection with retroreflective matting, match cut technique, rotating sets, slit-can photography, etc.). For its time, this conceptually complex (both artistically and technically) film, led to a generation of increasingly advanced film technology. Kubrick stated “2001’s true meanings had been visually encoded to bypass the conscious rationalizations of the audience and sink straight into the unconscious.” From the realization of apes of the use of bone as a weapon, through to the birth of the Star Child, Kubrick intended to propose that enlightenment and self-awareness are the only differences that separate humans from other living species on earth.

Combining three cross-cultural elements (i.e. Chac-Mool, 2001; A Space Odyssey and Hawkwind’s album sleeves by Barney Bubbles) related to spacetime we celebrate the enlightenment and self-awareness of mankind. The spaceship is coming. Get on board!
