From a bottle into a snifter. Hazy dark pour. Not much head. Spicy smoke aroma. Roasted malt and toffeee. A decent imperial stout. Bitter finish.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Iphonephan. It's billed as an imperial stout but tastes very much like a barley wine. A dark ruby red pour with a little short-lived life in the head. The richness of the malt and liquorice really shines through with citrus notes too. A slight bitterness with some fruit on the palate. Not a traditional imperial stout, but a really great beer all the same. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black opaque color, brownish head. Smells a little like red wine. Little burning taste on the tongue. Good carbo, but a little weird.

Stouts aren’t my favorite beers, but this is one of the lower scoring stouts on my list. Mouthfeel was pretty nice though.

500 ml bottle, batch 22, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 8.0%. Pitch black colour, big to moderate tan head. Moderate but nice aroma of roasted malts, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice and smoke. Full and rich mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly sweet and malty, roasty notes of course, some caramel, tar, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and smoke again - but not quite as much peat smoke as expected, and that’s quite alright with me. A lovely drop!
