Big thanks to bierkoning for this one! The bottle looks good, a bit complex maybe. Dark in the glass almost black, brown head. Starts malty and strong, quite dry, a bit scratchy. Nice hoppy notes in the background. Finish very well balanced. Tastes stronger than it is. Very good!

Bottled. Very dark brown, richbeige head. Aroma of chocolate and perfumy shampoo. Sweet and medium bodied with flavours of whisky and molasses, notes of coffee. Fairly mild bitterness. Atypical but interesting porter.

(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 3 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark fruit, prunes, raisins and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark bread, raisins and figs. Medium body, rather dry. Balanced roasty bitternes in the finish. On the shy side, leaning in the direction of schwarzbier rather than porter. Quite nice though.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest, 2006 vintage. Clear dark reddish brown colour, thick beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malts, liquorice, caramel. Flavour is sweet, raisins, roasted malts, caramel, liquorice. A nice coffee flavour emerges in the aftertaste. A bit thin bodied and a bit too sweet for me.

Brown. Rather ordinary porter. Light flavor. Moderately roasted malt and not really much else at all. Drinkable enough, but not much to enjoy.
