Generously dry-hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe for a bright, piney punch, 1500 brings together orange blossom and grapefruit notes with a touch of honey sweetness. We don’t like choosing favorites, but 1500 is our perfect everyday hoppy beer.

Draft from the source. Light dankness, some grass and malt with traces of pine needles. Flavor is huge west coast influence, good amount of pine. Lighter body with slight lingering dankness. Thin body is the biggest negative, overall very drinkable.

Hazed orange. Pine and sweet fruit aroma. Taste is very chewy. Dank and juicy with a lot of pine cone and crystal malt finish. Classic west coast

Keg at the Library Alehouse, Santa Monica, 16/04/14. Clear pale golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is orange pith, grass, toasted malt, light grapefruit, citrus fruit tang. Taste comprises dak hop tones, juicy citrics, orange pith, grapefruit, straw, toasty malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough APA.

On tap at Blueprint Tap Room in SF, February 2014. (my first one from this brewery) A bit hazy dark golden with a medium head. Quite hoppy and fresh with grapefruit, grass and light malt. The finish was dry and fairly bitter. Easy to drink.

On tap at Red Robin, San Bruno. It pours a hazy, orange body under a small, off-white head. Rather piney aroma, with a good dash of orange peel and mandarine. Not much maltyness. There’s a fine and pleasant bitterness in the flavor, along with the pine cones and oranges found on the nose. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation. Bitter finish with orange peel. A tasteful and refreshing beer I could drink a lot of. 130803

Crisp golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, corn, tortillas, a hint of citrus and a very small amount of hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour wtih grass and herbal notes at first and then showing a good smooth malty flavour, a bit of caramel and a little earthiness at the end. Aftertaste shows some good complexity, but a very nice balance of hops and malt with more floral and grassy hops showing than anything else. Overall, a nice APA with some good hop notes and a smooth finish. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased yesterday from Bottle Craft in San Diego, California on 06-June-2013 for US$1.79 sampled in my hotel room on 07-June-2013.

On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours a hazy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of piney and floral hops, though not as strong as in an IPA, not a whole lot else. Flavour brings out piney hops, and lots of them, a bit of resin and a thin caramel malt backbone. Treads the boundaries of an APA and IPA. Great stuff.

Hazy orange beer, fluffy off white head. Crisp palate with good bite. Fresh minerally orange peel and marmalade with super fresh yellow grapefruit. A little creamy malt underneath. Nice because it tastes so fresh.
