Pretty clear dark amber to reddish brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, a bit adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, sweet impression, caramel, vanilla, dried fruits, hint of milk chocolate, malty, overripe banana, raisins, some port, nice! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very sweet and sugary start, malty, oxidized, caramel, some overripe banana, a gentle roast, a little earthy, leather and tobacco notes, some vanilla, some alcohol. Aftertaste: sweet and sugary, ab it oxidized, a little watery, earthy, caramel, dried fruits, bitter touch, sugary, nice one!

Can. Murky, dirty chestnut coppery, thin and completely nonlasting offwhite head. Medium malty nose, biscuity, quite woody. Moderate sweet start. Syrupy and biscuity, dry fruits. Not cloying. Medium bittetness. Gentle warmth initially, a bit more later in the finish, lasting. Woody presence in aftertaste. Fuller body. Silky.

Almost clear mahogany colorand a smallwhitehead. Orange zest, caramel and so e citric flavors. Wine-ish finish.

33 cl can @ Utsjoki. Canned 02.12.2020, BBE 02.12.2022 Aroma is odd with rhubarb kissel. Flavour has vanilla and rhubarb kissel. Finishes sweet and sticky with fruits and berries. Woody tones and warming alcohol. Okay BW, could have less berry aromas though.

33cl Blik. Afsluiter van een lange dag bierdrinken, niet geheel objectief meer dus. Zoet, cola, bruine suiker, dun bubbeltje wat het cola-gevoel versterkt, alcohol. Medium body. Vond t geen topper helaas.

12,5 %, IBU de 70, Mosaic et MH70 comme houblon et utilisation de copeaux de chêne américain au programme de cette Cuvée du Owl qui se veut être un Barley WIne fruité et houblonné mais manquant de gourmandise et de complexité. Robe couleur bronze (EBC de 350), sans mousse, nous somme sur du classique pour le genre. Le nez est sur le caramel, le raisin, les agrumes et le bois. L'ensemble se marie convenablement mais manque de caractère. C'est également le constat où l'on découvre un Barley Wine manquant de tension tout en restant agréable. Sur l'attaque c'est un cocktail caramel, chêne, poivre, agrumes sur une texture suave qui se découvre. Si l'amertume donne une composante fraîche, l'alcool, pourtant à 12,5 % manque de vivacité. En deuxième bouche le poivre est un peu plus présent, réhausse l'ensemble, sans assez de nervosité ni de variations. L'arrière est un peu plus sur l'amertume avec des nuances de fruits exotiques. Le final, très court, déçoit quant à lui. La corpulence est toutefois très correcte. Je ne parle pas des copeaux de chêne, dont je ne suis toujours pas fan. De la part de la brasserie Uiltje, je m'attends à mieux tout de même. Mais avec sa vente récente, j'ai bien peur qu'il ne faille plus que j'ai trop d'attentes.
