Un grand merci à Vincent pour cette bouteille. Pojhala nous offre ici un excellent Imperial Baltic Porter vieilli en fut de cognac XO où ce dernier se marie parfaitement à une base d'une bonne expression et sur des arômes de chocolat et de café avec un léger fumé. Une base légèrement plus prononcée aurait peut être été encore plus appréciable, mais le cognac n'est pas non plus totalement dominant. L'alcool, à 12 % n'est de plus absolument pas agressif et passe tout seul. La texture, très fine, n'empêche quant à elle en rien une bonne présence en bouche. Le visuel, sur un brun foncé sans mousse et sans effervescence est classique du genre. L'ensemble se déguste lentement et l'on savoure chaque gorgée.

Dark brown color. Smoked bacon, roasted malt, oak, a touch of cognac and dark chocolate. Dry, full bodied, rich, tons of smoked malt and roasted malt. Very malt focused. The barrel is actually in the background. Pretty nice. Low carbonation. Smooth, modest bitterness. Very rounded. Highly enjoyable. Interesting beer.

Bottle picked up from, mmhhh.....not sure where. Consumed in Frank camper at Lenggrieser mountain Camping, Friday 21st January 2022 listening to Tom Ravenscroft on 6Music after a Beef Rendang and Rice for tea followed by cheese and biscuits later. Pours black with a beige head. More chocolate than you can shake a stick at, layers of it, some toffee and coffee, interesting that I get very little barrel ageing, a little ripe berry fruity touch. This is lovely, really smooth and creamy and rich.

Bottle. Black with a fat dense tan coat that retreats to the rim. 3+ Powerful roasted and toasted (and smoked?) aroma with berries, grappa (I would have guessed), Indian spiced sweets. A nice balance of coiled and open. Silky. Full bodied. Rich but not hugely sweet. Boozy but not hot. Roast and chocolate and singed flavours, berries, tea, Cognac. Firmish bitterness. Harmonious, elegant.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma has woody notes, coffee liqueur and cocoa powder. Silky mouthfeel. Bitterness of coffee and dark chocolate. Sweet, warming cognac. Aftertaste keeps on going and going with layers of cognac and chocolate liqueurs.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black, minimal head. Rich aroma of coffee, coconut and pear brandy. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Cognac and caramel, coffee and licorice. Warming finish. Rich and mellow with some complexity.

Just a fantastic beer. Not too in your face or overpowering. The charcoal roast (making it unique) along with the round chewy body are just perfectly balanced. Just the perfect bitterness. Sterk ams

Roosterig, beetje asbak/sigaar, flink droog, vleugje drop en laurier. Een beetje alsof je een volle koffiefilter probeert te eten. Niet vies, maar best een opgave om weg te krijgen. Lastig te beoordelen.

Nose has some cognac. Light body, a bit sweet, lightly roasted coffee, chocolate, some brandy, a bit of dry barrel. Very smooth and nice.
