Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby, 06/03/13. Clear pale blonde with a good sized white head, good lacing follows. Nose is pale malts, lemon sherbet, citrus, hops. Taste comprises zingy citrus notes, hops, lemon, grass, light sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff!

Pale golden coloured ale with an ugly bubbly head. Its character is hoppy tropical fruits in both aroma and taste but with a bitter aftertaste.

Cask @ Staggs Musselburgh 190113
Pale straw, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - soft citrus hops, light pale malts, not a lot in the nose
Taste - light pale malts, soft fruits, dab of apricot
Palate - light to thin body, fairly oily texture overall, bit creamy. Finish s main flavour, slight dry, soft bitter zest linger
Overall - It was OK but the least impressive of the 3 Oakhams I tried tonight

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2012. Big floral aroma! I initially thought it was the soap on my hands as I'd just been to the toilet, but no, it was the beer and typically Oakham! Beautiful hoppy bitterness in the flavour that hits the palate right away. Very refreshing indeed. Another Oakham classic!

Half pint @Castle Hotel, 04.Jul.2012 Clear hay coloured body, small dense head that diminishes and leaves a tiny layer. Hops, tangerines, flowers and fruit. Hint of coriander (?) in aroma, fresh oranges, snap peas, green grass and grain. Dry finish. Yummy!

Hand pulled pint poured into a UK sleeve on 20 Aug 2011 in the ’Wrekin Inn’ Wellington, Shropshire. Pours a pale yellow with a small to no white head. The smell is all citrusy hops with grapefruit coming through in my nose. The taste is a crisp grapefruit induced hoppy flavour with very little maltiness to be found, some yeasty hints around in the aftertaste. I’ll not pretend Oakham are a favourite brewery of mine, or that I like hoppy brews compared to maltier ones, but this is a good beer and is scored accordingly.
