Bottle 0,75ltr: Opaque black coloured brew with an fine taste of roasted malts and chocolate. Suits well in the working-class city of Rotterdam.

Jet black colour with thin lacy head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts and cocoa. Texture is diappointingly thin and watery. Flavour has a distinct chocolatey taste but the beer lacks body and depth to carry the flavour through.

Sampled @ KBC Festival Den Bosch 2012. Pitch black color, small light brown head. Smell roastyness, some coffee, malts. Taste malts, roastyness, coffee: great balance! Medium body, medium to full carbonation. Very nice beer.

Tap @ Pelgrim brewpub. Dark brown colour, thin beige head. Nose is light roasted malts, chocolate, bit of cacao. Flavour is light roasted malts, chocolate, bit of liquorice. Slightly dry and bitter finish. Light bodied.

75cl bottle shared with a friend. Thin off white head. Clear dark pour. No chocolate aroma but chocolate after-taste. Nice!

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted dark malty, chocolate and light breadish. Smooth chocolate, light fruity note, mild yeasty and medium bitter. Ends light chocolate flavoured and bitter into the finish.

Tap @ KBC ’10. Dark color, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolat, some rye, hint of hop. Bit sweet taste, reasonable bitter. Not bad.
