(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately roasted malty aroma with caramel, dark chocolate and a tinge of fruity hops. Moderately bitter flavour with a light note of acidity, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roast-malty base with caramel, subtle fruity notes and traces of chocolate; sweet and mildly bitter roasty finish with very subtle fruity notes. 06.X.09

500ml bottle. Dark reddish brown, almost black with a light, thin beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and dry fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, bitter coffee, dry fruit and chocolate. Balanced and complex, not particular heavy, easy drinkable.

Location: .5 liter bottle from Gilly's, 7/27/09

Aroma: Roasted and toasted malts, bit of caramel and a touch of chocolate
Appearance: Dark brown (almost black) color, tan head, spotty but covering lacing
Flavor: Tasty porter-like flavor, mostly the big malty character, bit of fruitiness to the malts, some hop backing
Palate: This beer isn't overly full, but it has a decent palate, a touch watery, but still decent
Overall Impression: I like this brew. Very smokey/roasted flavor, and strong flavored. It it a pretty decent example of what I like in a Porter, not top of the style, but highly drinkable.

Thanks to Butters for the bottle. Pours deep ruby mahogany with a tall, lasting, light tan head. Light roast malt, caramel and cocoa aroma. Sweet malts start and a few touches of chocolate try to sneak in there. A bit tame and very light bodied, but there arenโ€™t any real flaws here and the flavor is good.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Tan micro head with excellent craters as it recedes leaving moutains of lacing. Dark pit fruit and sour cocoa aromas. Roasted full sweet milk chocolate upfront turning to a thin funky sour fruit finish.

Pours with an exceptionally dark brown body with a largish, creamy light brown head that leaves good lacing. Light coffee ground and vanilla aroma. Taste is light coffee grounds, smoke and nuts. Sharp bubbles with a creamy mouthfeel.

One of the better porters I have had in some time. Brown with a red hue. Roasted malt and some lactose. Flavor has more roasted malt, red wine, and a little smoke.

Bottle, 5.5%. Clear colour, very dark brown. Small frothy head. Good roasted flavour, a little sweet. Gets a little sour in the finish, but that is quite refreshing. A little light chocolate notes.
