Almost cola colored pour, but with a rubyish tint to keep it interesting. Meduim foamy head. Aroma is dark malts without roast - featuring a chocolatey syrupy molasses nuttiness and a touch of pruney fruitiness. Vague herbal hop. Flavor is balanced, with a light almost crisp drying palate, with a very mild roasted malt component, and a wee hint of chocolate. Finish is semi-dry - thereโs not alot of big sweet malt in this one at all, although thereโs some vague fruitiness that brings a welcome layer of complexity. Would love to try the cask version.

05.L bottle pours brown with clear amber edges and thin tan head. The aroma seems to border a bit on the Baltic Porter side with unmistakably drool causing sweet dark fruity esters of dark grape jam, plums and dates. I also get a malt backbone of moderately roasted malts mixing with biscuit malts and nuttiness. Also seem to smell a bit like an English style barleywine. The taste begins with a pulse of sweet molasses and roasted malts. That experience is quickly erased by a wave of fruity esters from such notes as grapes, sugar coated pears, prunes and a bit of raisin. I also detect just a hint of tartness or bitterness from probably either the hops or a bit of malt astringency or both. A bit too fruity for the style but pretty tasty.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a lacing tan head. Overripe fruit and malt aroma. Medium sweet fruity flavour with a good malt base. Sweet malt and light fruity note into the finish. Well brewed yet not interesting imho.

Pour is a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is some sweet but light caramel malts and a bit of toffee. Flavor is again on the light side with some dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Nothing really good to say about this one and nothing really bad. Its light but drinkable.
