500 ml bottle. Golden amber body with a decent tan head. Aroma is citric hoppy and hay. Flavor is sweet malty, some caramel and a sharp, fruity bitterness with grapefruit. Very well made and in perfect balance. Easy drinkable.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Dark caramel and resin aromas. Sweet caramel, butterscotch and vanilla upfront. Turning to a sweet, boozy hinted-pine finish.

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours a fairly clear ruby color with a three finger beige/tan head. Huge aromas of floral and dark fruit. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is fruit, dark fruit, touch of chocolate, maybe citrus for hop. It’s arguably well balanced, but there is a decent amount of bitter. Quite delicious.

Good, dense cream-coloured head, leaving some lace over (cold) dark brown beer with a reddish glow. End of bottle solid yeast. Brandy-like alcohol and very grapey (Muscat grapes) hops vying for dominance in the nose; smelling like raisinscake with a very serious shot of old brandy. Tart, dry, puckeringly wry, wood/tannine onslaught, extremely bitter, filling the oral cavity to overload. Dry hessian hopsacks, not much more liquid, alcohol and some faint fusels. Gradually, dried fruit (apricots) creeping in. Dense, well-bodied, bone-dry, wry but slick, alcoholwarming. First sensation is pure shock, sensory overload. Step by step, one warms to the beer, the beer warming in one...

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with large foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is not as dominant as expected but still quite bitter. Taste is also dominated by some bitter US style hops with a bold malt backbone with notes of dry caramel. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with non hint of alcohol. Well done and somehting I would like to drink again.

Bottle. Amber-brown beer with a tan head. Pine and sweet caramel aroma with a bit of earth. Grapefruit and pine flavor with lots of caramel. Medium-plus bodied. Grapefruit and pine start to stand out with decent bitterness and linger nicely. Alcohol present, but not in a bad way.
