Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkronne. Geruch röstmalzig, Karamell, leicht schokoladig. Geschmack röstmalzig, schokoladig, minimal würzig.

Bottle. Pours copper brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops, with malty touches. Bitter, hoppy aroma, with sweetish notes of malt and estery touches. Bitter, slightly metallic finish. Nothing really special but drinkable.

Clear brown. Pleasant dark malty bittersweetness. Quite rich and full flavoured without being strong in anyway. The light caramel sweetness is nice.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a offwhite head. Aroma of roast malt, little caramel, light grassy hops. Flavor is malt, burnt caramel, nuts, light bitterness, grass. Medium body, soft carbonation. 300413

Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda 2013. Clear brownish color, small to medium sized off-white head that leaves fair to good lacing. Smell malts, leaves, slightly caramel. Taste malts, lightly caramel, some butter and leaves again with just a slight touch of bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

From a tegut in Marburg. Dark brown, clear. Dry malty, light aroma, vague dogfood. Sweetish malty, vaguely roasty taste, not much else, vague caramel. Drinkable, ok.

Nice dark beer with a bitter edge. More bitter than your average dunkel. Pours dark brown with above average fluffy beige head. Aroma is coffee, roast grains, burnt toast. chocolate. Taste lens toward the chocolate and roast grain with some sharp bitterness at the finish.

On tap at Epcot. Pours dark brown with a small, bubbly head. The aroma is light toastiness, caramel, and black bread. Tastes sweet, with mild bitterness and little sour note in the finish. Feels medium, sticky and finishes clean. Overall, this is a fair, drinkable, and pleasant beer. Nothing special, but not bad.
