The light, refreshing character of our award-winning golden ale is distinguished by its subtle elderflower aroma, reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Champion is particularly rewarding when served chilled. On a balmy evening in Stanpit Marsh, a cool breeze blows and a calm encompasses the vast reserve. Amongst the wild horses, you may see Golden Champion, a headstrong but loyal stallion who enjoys the warm days grazing in th fields. The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. This divine all-rounder is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a finger-thick off-white head. Fruity, berryish hops, some elderflower, pale malts and hints of blackcurrant. Pale malts, sweetness, elderflower, fruityness, some citrus and a smooth bitterness in the flavor. Dry, almost full-bodied mouthfeel. Medium lenght malty and hoppy finish with decent bitterness. A nice and refreshing beer, but for most uses, a bit too heavy on the elderflower. (090401)

Clear orange-old gold coloured beer, with a small transparant-white head. Sweet, flowery/fruity bubblegum aroma; non-bitter herbs and spices; cheesy. More bitterish taste, and a truly weird flavour that inspires images of scampi fried in olive oil, or paella. Sorry if that sounds obscure. Spanish omelette, anyone? Toasted malts, OK? Very spritzy MF, light to medium bodied. Too carbonated, it does the otherwise quite nice balance no favours. Strange, but original ale. thanks to DeanS!

50cl bottle from superbest allerød. clear golden, large thick white head that goes fluffy after a while. rather strong aroma of flowers, herbs and citrus. it has elderflower. flavor is honey sweet, quite bitter (english type bitter) and floers (elderflower). quite refreshing and alc. is hard to find as it is well hidden behind the bitterness. ends sweet and slightly bitter. nice brew, lots of taste and bitter in a nice way to balance.

(bottle) Clearm golden colour with a blonde medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet malty and distinctive lemon- and orange-fruity aroma with flowery and slightly woody hoppy touch. Light-bitter flavour with a tinge of ascorbic acidity, medium to light bodied with a creamy textured mouthfeel. Pale malty taste with an aromatic fruit character of citrus, melon and flowery hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter finish with a light tart fruity note. Much better than the Tanglefoot I had before (22.II.09).

Golden colour, small white head. The aroma and flavour of elderflower is very dominant. Not my cup of tea.
