Taking cues from the brewers of the Baltics, we selected a lager yeast to ferment this dark beer. Keeping the fermentation cold makes the beer extra smooth and brings out the chocolatey malt flavours.

Keg at the brewery tap room. Tan-coloued head. A brownish shade to a black body. Clingy lacing. Roasted dark malty nose, hints of sweet fruit. Blended taste of chocolate malts and dried fruits. Rounded, slightly roasted end. Not overly sweet. Nice version of the style. (Attending East Bristol Brewery Trail 29.04.2017).

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 8/12/2016. Near black in colour with a thin, beige, head. Aroma of chocolate, toasty malts, leafy hops, and a touch of caramel. Flavour had some chocolate sweetness, gently roasted malts and a gentle finish. Very good, easy drinking for the ABV.
