Bottle at home. Dark red pour. Almost no carbonation. Smells of sweet potatoes, pumpkin and cloves. Taste is very unique. Sweet, cloves, brown sugar and maple syrup. Bretty finish but is not overpowering. I like this beer a lot.

Bottle 750ml.[ Courtesy of henrikb ]. Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, maple, sweet potatoes - red potatoes, leather notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet maple, wood, red potato, light funky. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20121103]

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Great beer. The sweet maple character is present, but the brett eats into it wonderfully so that the beer is never too sweet. Strong but not boozy. A very creative beer, executed well.

Bottle from a trade with peteinsd. Pours cloudy dark caramel color with off white head. Aromas of yams, cinnamon, brett, toffee, and brown sugar. Sweet yam and caramel flavors with brett and cinnamon. Very earthy. Medium body with moderate carbonation. I thought this was slightly better than the regular version. Thanks Peter.

Bottle, thanks to Evin. It pours cloudy amber, with a thin off-white head. The nose is spice, honey glazed ham, earth, maple and sweet yam. The taste is tangy dark fruit, raisin, fig, tinned nectarine, sweet potato, sweet maple, caramel, honey, spice, vinegar and alcohol warmth, with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. An interesting brew.

Pours a deep reddish copper with a stingy off white head that even a vigorous pour could not bring up to size. Wow that is an odd aroma. Nutmeg crusted french fries smothered in ketchup is what I get initially. There’s some dark fruits deep inside but the ketchup chips won’t leave my nostrils. I’m pleased to say that no fries remained in the flavor, but I’m also obliged to say how lackluster the flavor is. There’s a nice sweet malty caramel and maple flavor up front but that only lasts for a second before the palette is assaulted with spices. This beer remains quite sweet but the spices destroy the flavor for me. Its like a sweet syrupy spice rack around Christmas time. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet syrupy mouthfeel. I have to say that the base beer is not my favorite, but the 100% brett doesn’t help it for me either. The bourbon version is tolerable, but I just don’t get this beer.

Bottle thanks to Steve. Pours brown with off white head. Nose/taste of candied yams, maple syrup, caramel, oak and wild yeast. Hints of lemon zest in deep background. Very mild tartness adds balance but doesn’t detract. Medium body.

Bottled 2011 Version. Pours with a super hazy amber hue with a thin and off-whit head. Aromas are sweet, yam pie, spices, marshmallow, funk, light brett/horseblanket, biscuit, grapes and vinous. Super mild on the funk, but nice none the less. Flavors are strongly of pumpkin pie, a bit dank. Funk is really under developed, but it is really nice without the distracting house esters. It tastes like pie. Much more clean than regular AM. No esters. Flavors of artificial syrup (aunt Jemimahs), a bit bitter, maple, butterscotch, lactose. Medium sweet, clean, minimal to no funk at the moment (from my tastes; family disagrees), lemon zest, light carbonation. Really not funky, but a bit hot. Pretty tasty, and nicely cleaner than normal, but no funk.
