Bottle at Dave and Jill’s. This is the sort of beer that every brewer in the UK should be able to nail. It’s gratifying but it’s quite simple really and it could be drunk by the gallon. There’s lemon with a touch of hobeyed malt. The taste definitely doesn’t get in the way of the balance.

Light copper-amber in colour, no head. There’s plenty of pale ale character in this but the dry hoppy flavours also include plenty of tasty grain with a similarly good nose to this effect.

500ml Bottle: BBD 28 May 14, poured into my huge ’Judas’ glass at home on 18 Oct 13 during a random tasting session with myself. Poured a lovely amber/old gold colour, the head sadly didn’t hang around and became a wisp and collar far too quickly for my liking. Really prefer the cask version to this: The hops don’t seem as assertive in the nose or taste and it lacks oomph compared to a well looked after draught pint. Fruity notes in both the nose and taste, I’m trying to be positive here, but failing, like the beer in front of me. Just another bottled bitter really: what a pity.

Wytrawny i dłógi finisz.
