On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - golden with a nice lacy head. Nose - meadow flowers and lemon. Taste - tonnes more lemon almost custard. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a lovely smashable beer in fantastic condition. Nailed.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear pale gold, thinnest white head. Aromas of lemon meringue, light buttery note. Taste is light malty biscuit, light floral bitter. Standard, easy-drinking stuff.

Cask at Reading BF. Gold in hue, as you’d expect. Light lemon with a little caramel and a mildly crisp finish. Your archetypal middle of the road UK golden ale, and there’s nothing wrong with that on occasion.

500ml bottle from the Pheasantry brewery beer shop. Aroma is sweet malt. Colour is deep straw with thin white head. Taste slightly sweet. Palate is slightly watery. Not the tastiest beer ever.

Bottle at Langley Castle. It pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is clean, doughy, honey, leaf and a touch of metal. The taste is clean, crisp, citrus, mild bitterness, dough, honey and grass with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good clean, crisp golden ale. Decent.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy aroma, hoppy overtones with a fruity touch of pale berries. Taste is grainy and minimally strawy, minimally chalky, cautious fruity hints of pale berries; dry, strawy and chalky finish, light body.
