The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

Lovely imperial stout, chocolate and anise and coffee cherries laced with raisin, caramel, and black cherry, finished off by vanilla, oak, and bourbon. Floral honey notes come through in the back end, but without adding sweetness. Bitter, charred fade. A tad thin, but no trace of the ABV. Very good. Even better with a dram of Peat Monster.

0.65l bottle thanks to Lore. Black body with a very thin brown head. Aroma of bourbon, soy sauce, coconut, maple syrup, chocolate and caramel. Taste of bourbon, chocolate, toast, orange marmelade, vanilla and some pecan. The finish is quite long and the beer itself develops very well. The first sip is almost streight up bourbon, but a bit later all the other components shine through. Great beer.
