Draft. A- Malty, nutty. A- Dark red color, hazy liquid, off white head. T- Nutty, malty, bready. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Creamy but otherwise tasted about like the Rotbier. Meh.

On tap @Hausbrauerei Altstadthof (Nuremberg). Bruna, quasi nera, schiuma avorio/beige media, non molto persistente. Al naso note di nocciola, caffè, liquirizia, leggero erbaceo. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con finale appena caffettoso e leggermente amaro. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione medio-leggera. Non male.

On tap at the brewpub. Almost black coloured, small beige head, sweet caramel nose. Toasted malt, caramel, milk chocolate and mild nutty with rather dry sweetish finish. Pretty ordinary but drinkable.

Draught (Brewpub, Nuremberg) - Very dark brown with some red tinges. Roasted aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Subtle yet noticeably roasted tasted with coffee, chocolate, malt and berries. Tasty.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish.

On tap at the Brewpub. Dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit einer ordentlichen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, schokoladig, erdig. Geschmack schokoladig, röstmalzig, Kaffee, erdig.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 4C). Draft @ Hausbrauerei Altstadthof. AROMA: mild roasted notes reminiscent of coffe with a sweet malty background. APPEARANCE: dark color and somewhat hazy. average pale brown head with medium retention. TASTE: sweet malt flavour with roasted notes. medium-low bitterness with a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: medium-low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a not bad craft schwarzbier.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown in the glass, nice head. Roasty-malty aroma. Starts roasty-malty, soft, some nutty notes, a bit sweetish. Also some earthy notes. Finish a bit too mild. Okay.

On tap at the brewery in Nuremberg. Black beer lasting beige head. Roasty chocolate and malty flavour. It’s fine. Not overly intense but a decent schwarz. Some light roast Full in the mouth.

Vom Faß im Altstadthof, Nürnberg. - Antrunk sahnig, stark röstmalzig mit Noten von Mokka und der milden Aromenfülle eines unfiltrierten Bieres. Wenig gehopft, was aber durch die Schwarzmalzaromen ausgeglichen wird. Herber Nachtrunk. - Schönes Dunkles. Auch in Literflaschen zum Mitnehmen erhältlich, leider stark überteuert.
