1l bottle. Reddish dark brown body, light brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark fruits and creme. Pretty much like the aroma of a good stout. Lots of coffe in the taste with creme and dark fruits. Very balanced beer. I like it.

13/V/13 - 1L swing top bottle @ Dieter's place - BB: ??/XII, no year indicated, so not a clue as to it was this year's December, or last year's. (2013-464) Thanks to Dieter for sharing the bottle!

Clear red brown beer, big aery beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, bit earthy, overripe banana, bit lemony. MF: lots of carbon, light body. Taste: very unpleasant sourness, vinegar, bit of dried fruits. Aftertaste: very sour, lemony, vinegar. Clearly infected. Too bad.

Had this on tap at Schwarzer Bauer, Hausbrauerei, Nuremberg, Germany, Tuesday 5th June 2012 Pours very, very dark brown with an off-white head. Bubbles tingle in the mouth again this has a good soft carbonation and has a nice sweetness with caramel and some dark sticky fruit als present. A very decent beer much like the Maibock but not quite as good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a very dark red body, blackish, with a tan head. Soft raisiny malty nose, nice, some coffee in there too. light taste, light chicory that goes into the aftertaste. some ho-hum hoppy bitterness, but it doesn’t detract much. The maltiness is fine enough, soft, but it all ends dry. Far better than the helles at least.

Süffig-hefiger und leicht herber Antrunk, noch etwas hefiger werdend. Nun konstant, spritzig-süffig. Zum Ende erneut würziger, sehr harmonisch, erst hier bananig. Gelungen! 12/10/11/10//11

Draught@brewpub (as Schwarze). Very deep ruby red colour, close to black, with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is quite much roasted malts along with some mild syrup and also mildly smoked wood, some grassy hops. Flavour is roasted malts, some smoked wet wood, caramel malts, some nuts, mild toffee as well as some tarry notes ("tervaleijona"like). Very pleasant brew!

Draught as "Schwarze" @brewpub
Dark ruby color, small brownish head. Light coffeish, toasted nose. Coffee beans, cappuchino in the flavor with light caramelly notes. Some hops in the aftertaste. Light, but balanced dunkel/schwarzbier.
