50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 20.01.2013. Thanks oh6gdx!
Quite dark appearance for a kellerbier. Aroma is floury, somewhat stale and sweet with some grainy malt and hay. Flavour is sweetish and floury with some grainy malt and hay. Decent.

Day Two of the Great Chris Meyer/Aaron Nielsen Franconian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Prost! Cloudy, brownish orange appearance with a nice cream colored head. Toasty, caramel malty, a bit nutty, a bit spicy, yeasty aroma. Nutty, slight fruity estery, toasty caramel malty, floral, grassy flavor. Nice brew. Too bad the bottles that I have had of this in the USA are aged too long.

September 2008: My brown flip-top 0.5 litre bottle stated a best before date of 23 May 2009. Poured into a UK pint sleeve glass, it could have been a British bitter (only slightly cloudy). A good amber/light brown body of misty beer sat below an inch of biege foam, the inch soon fell away to less than half an inch though. The aroma was of hops mostly, but with a sweetnes not normally present in a hoppy smelling beer. Maybe the malts added more to the smell than I realised? Could still have been a Brit bitter at this stage. The taste was tart and crisp, it ain’t Brit, it ain’t a bitter either. Lager carbonisation levels, almost fizzy, well actually it was fizzy. Perhaps it was a bit young and needed more time in the bottle, it was fine, just a little too lively for me. I’ve already mentioned the over carbonisation, the alcohol is there for all to feel and it gets into your bloodstream quicker in fizzy drinks (as we all know). So I knew I’d had a drink half way through drinking it! I thought this a very pleasant beer, not great, but above average for the style and price I paid (in Germany, while on a beer run).

Decent, a bit like kotikalja. But the taste is.. boring. And watery. Surprisingly flat for a 5,4 %.
