Unpasteurized and naturally bottle conditioned, Collesi Nera Craft Beer is striking with a dark ebony color. Rounded and full-bodied on the nose, it evokes the aroma of the roasting of caffè d’orzo,—a delicious Italian barley alternative to coffee— with hints of licorice, rhubarb and cocoa. Creamy and enveloping on the palate, Collesi Nera Craft Beer has a distinctive, rich and full-bodied flavor. It is also recognizable by its soft and velvety cappuccino-colored foam.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting, Sept 2013 - Pours very dark brown with minimal head and a fairly mild roasted malt aroma. It tastes of sweet chocolate malt mostly. There’s no noticeable hops presence. It’s bubbly and medium bodied with sweetness carrying through the finish. This is an okay beer, that’s about it.

BB 2015, 500 ml bottle. Pours very dark brown almost black with lighter tan head. The head stays for a long time. Aroma: caramel, cream, metallic, hops. Taste: sour, watery, caramel, light bitterness, a little bit creamy. Finish is sour with hints of sweetness. Lively carbonation. Overall: good beer, taste is rather nice caramel and it really hides alcohol (8%) very well without the bitterness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imper Ale Maior Nera on 09 Feb 2018 at 17:21. A dark brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, mineral notes, Bock like. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, molasses, grassy hops, silky and nice. Bottle at Downtown Brew Brew fest LV 2013.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Semi dry palate, a little crisp. Mild dark malt. Trace of coffee. Tangy and sweet generic fruit underneath. Finishes dry with mild dry bubblegum. A little disjointed but goes down fine.

16.9oz bottle. Unfiltered brown-black body, glass rimming oily beige head. Certainly can see how someone could mistake it for a Belgian Dubbel, but this is intended as and labeled a Stout. Mellow mouthfeel, very yeasty, creamy. Nice balance between the sugary sweetness and steady fruity yeast undertones. Almost has a lactic touch, reminiscent of a Caribbean Stout, were a Belgian yeast strain pitched. Unique, well done.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Dark brown appearance with a brown head. A bit oxidized, rich caramel, toasty malty, light candy sugar aroma. Somewhat dark fruity, moderate candy sugar, plum, cherry flavor that’s well carbonated. Not bad.

Bottle from Brdr. Schmidt, Viby. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are fruits, roast malt, chocolate, licorice and hops. Mild flavor. More like a sweet stout to me than a dubbel.

50cl bottle in Rome at the Gran Caffe. Lots of off white head. Very dark amber beer. It was quite decent but the bottle promised a much nicer beer.
