Unpasteurized and naturally bottle conditioned, Collesi Nera Craft Beer is striking with a dark ebony color. Rounded and full-bodied on the nose, it evokes the aroma of the roasting of caffè d’orzo,—a delicious Italian barley alternative to coffee— with hints of licorice, rhubarb and cocoa. Creamy and enveloping on the palate, Collesi Nera Craft Beer has a distinctive, rich and full-bodied flavor. It is also recognizable by its soft and velvety cappuccino-colored foam.

50cl bottle in Rome at the Gran Caffe. Lots of off white head. Very dark amber beer. It was quite decent but the bottle promised a much nicer beer.

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2011. It’s an almost clear one, dark brown in color and with a small, off-white head. Weak aroma with dried fruits, some caramel and fruityness. The flavor is semi-sweet, both fresh and dried fruits kicks in, and some roasted notes are also present. It’s medium bodied and smooth on the palate, rather dry considering the sweetness. I like the flavor quite well, it’s sort of complex and pleasant, but the aroma is way too boring. Flavor is the most important part of course, but still. Rating: 5-3-7-4-14-3.3. 110528
Bottle. Looking clear, dark brown with a reddish touch and topped by a small, dense, dark beige head. Berry-sourish notes, with berries and dried fruits, sort of like a dubbel on steroids. Flavor wise it’s pretty much the same, it’s quite nice, but there’s too much dried fruits and sweetness to make me really satisfied. Smooth, slightly warming and full-bodied. Dried fruits in the finish. Quite pleasant, although a bit overdone. 110614

Like all beers from this brewery, it comes in a very stylish bottle. The content of the bottle is not equally impressive. Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival, from a new bottle. The guy in the bar rolled the bottle vigorously, to get the maximum flavour out of the sediment. I’m not sure that this was such a good idea. Murky brown appearance, low head. Moderate aroma and flavour of "dusty" malts and a little hops, hints of a slight ashy roastiness. Not undrinkable, but very boring - and not something I will buy again.

Bottled@Old Bank, Turku. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, liquorice and some toffee along with mild burnt sugary notes. Flavour is fudge, alcohol, some toffee, burnt sugary notes as well as liquorice and some sweet maltyness. Got the elements, but mixes up quite thin for being 8 %.

Bottled 500ml (Old Bank, BB 06/2012)
Dark nut brown color, good beige head. Sticky berryish, yeasty, vegetably nose. Medium bodied but feels light for this ABV. Caramelly, low bitterness, some berryish notes. Empty finish. Dissapointing, Leffe with high price tag.
