Saku ROCK is a beer with a lot of attitude. It was first brewed in the spring of 1994 as a limited edition beer for a music festival that took place the same year. In the meantime, the success of Saku Rock meant that the Saku brewery continued the brewing and today, it is a regular of the Saku portfolio.

Rock is a beer full of power and character. When compared to other lager beers, Rock packs a stronger hoppy taste, a bigger umps and not a drop of mildness.

(Draught) Poured very pale yellow and clear with medium sized and white head. Aroma was mildly sweet and very mildly grassy. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Mild flavours were grain, malts, grass and bitterness. Bitter and bit grainy aftertaste.

Brown bottle. Pours gold with a four finger creamy white head. Bland aromas. Near medium body with lots of creaminess. Flavor is really missing. Pale malt and a hint of grassy hop. A bit papery in the finish. It’s surely drinkable, but why? Maybe when it’s not safe to drink the water.

Thin white head. Yellow body with vigourous carbonation. Light mealy apple and malts aroma. Dryish watery apple malts taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Smoothish mouthfeel. Dry papery apple aftertaste, kind of neutral. So neutral they can’t hide the off tastes any more. (0.5l bottle, Hell Hunt, Tallinn.)

(50 cl bottle brought back from Estonia by a good friend of mine) Clear straw yellow color, white bubbly head. Grass and sweet malt, some rotten hay, scent. Sweet malty and alcohol taste, a bit sticky. Medium but sort of strange mouthfeel. Flat aftertaste. Low bitterness.
