A classic, strong beer with a generous warming flavour. The taste is deliciously fruity and malty with a lingering bitter aftertaste.

[500ml bottle, gift from my wife - cheers!] Amber, slight white head. A pleasant dusky bitterness with light hints of farmyard and toffee. Drinkable but dull. c6

[500ml bottle from Tescos, Bracknell. Bottle-conditioned.] Hazy gold with a ring of off-white head; fruity aroma with apricot and peach; thin and watery, grainy and fruity flavour, slightly sour to finish. Not very exciting.

Cask Conditioned at Merton Beer Festival Sat 18th Feb. This was very similar in terms of aroma to the Oxfordshire Triple B as they both had this most wonderous caramel scent. The beer slipped a bit after that as it never quite lived up to expectation, there was some sweetness there and the beer held up reasonably with a well balanced taste, nice tight head, certainly didn’t taste 4.7%. All in all a fine enough beer but nothing out of the ordinary.
