Bottle. It pours a small, beige head over a dark brown body with a reddish hue. Dried fruits, coffee, some chocolate and berries on the nose. Roasted flavor with coffee, chocolate and dried fruits. Lacks on bitterness all the way. Full-bodied and dry, a bit hard on the carbonation. Far from bad, but not a winner in my book. Too one dimensional. 111125

Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. Pours rich brown with a mild tan head. Roast and actually some nice, piney hops in the aroma. Flavor is kind of so so. Roasty with light chocolate and mild sweetness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent roasted malt character in the finish with just light sugar. Not bad, pretty straight-ahead stuff. (August 2011, score: 3.5)
Cask at the Pembury Tavern, Hackney, during the February Festival 2011. Pours brown with a light, tan foam head. Raw coffee bean nose, mild smoke, roast. Great flavour, with plenty of smokey malts, light minerality, some charred wood. Just lightly sweet with the faintest hints of fruit. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with light sugary notes, charcoal, further smokey accents. Pretty solid. (February 2011, score: 3.8)
