The Devil, perched upon the shoulder of one of our brewers, whispered, with intensity, "Brew me a beer with 6 premium malts and 6 varieties of hops, at 66 IBUs, and 6.6% abv." The fire beneath the kettle bellowed. Dark clouds formed with each addition of west coast hops and specialty malts. Lightning flashed and thunder clapped. The brewer devised a plan. As the beer came to be, clouds parted, and pillars of sunshine beamed upon the brewhouse. The Devil may have coerced us into brewing this dark, bold and bitter Pale Ale, but the young brewer had made certain the beer did not contain all the 6's the Devil sought, rendering any evil forces in this beer futile. After all, the Devil doesn't brew beer. We do.

473ml can. Slightly cloudy, chestnut colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma, earthy hoppy overtones, hints of coniferes, a touch of lavender, bath salt. Taste is grassy, earthy, bitter hoppy, dark malty basis, minimally roasty, spicy. Kind of a black APA.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Der Geruch dominiert durch die fruchtige Herbe. Geschmack malzig, Karamell, exotisch fruchtig. klasse!

Cask - Caramel malts and earthy hops. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Nutty with some earthy hops and mild bitterness. Reminds me more of a classic ESB.

Can from the LCBO. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head. Nose is nuts and spruce. Good upfront bitterness that is quickly taken over by an interesting mix of malts. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Decent but would like a longer finish.

Can shared by Karol, thanks. Aroma hoppy, floral citrusy. Clear dark reddish brown colour. Taste has sweet wood (which annoys me in this beer), caramel malt. Then hops, light heavy bitterness. Citrusy flavour, grapefruit. I do not like the weird sweetness. Finish mostly hoppy, dry, light touch of alcohol.

Has some decent citrus hops but pretty ordinary session ale. Pours an odd dark maroon for style. No head no lacing on cask. Pretty heavy consistency. Aroma has a little malt but lots of hops sting. Finishes pretty bitter. Volos.

Aroma: Very citrus with a lot of grapefruit and sub-notes of pepper and pine. Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black, with a beautiful creamy head, long lasting, with a superb lacing sticking on glass. Taste: Attack is very hoppy, with a lot of grapefruit. Bitterness remains for a long time. We can also find notes of pepper, hop resin, conifer and grass. Hops are sharp and effective, just the way I like them. Roasted malt is also adding wood accents to it. This is an excellent and very hoppy APA, even though the color is very dark and could also be called black IPA.
