On tap @ in de Wildeman. Cloudy dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, a little sour, roasted malts. Flavour is soft and sweet, a bit sour, brown sugar, roasted malts, fruits, some spices. I really enjoyed this one.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Very hazy orangey brown with a tall and frothy off-white head. Lightly tart and fruity nose with a whiff of yeast. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. Notes of sweet caramel, roasted malt and a high degree of fruitiness - overripe fruit also. Basically no bitterness. 190608

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy to murky brown with a slowly collapsing tan head. Mild roasted caramel malt aroma. Flavour holds mild dried fruit note mixed with a light roasted malt and chocolate note. Ends berry fruity mixed with a solid caramel malt flavour and light roasted.

Draught
Dark nut brown, small brown head. Yeasty, brown sugary in the nose (tap was maybe not in the best shape?). Brown ale-type sugary but a bit sour. Slightly yeasty.

Very cloudy brown color, medium brown head, very thick flock of yeast at the bottom. Aroma of heavy black malt, some chocolat malt, hop and coffee. Taste starts heavy, but once you get used to the heavy black malt, it softens up and the chocolate comes in, where it finishes more bitter. Palate is full and thick.

(Draught) Deep dark brown; slim rim of darkish foam. Woody nose, alcoholic, and some faint undefinable spices. Sweet taste with molasses but with an herbal flavour touch. Thyme? Light MF surprising for the style. Yet syrupy texture, and heavily carbonated on the verge of fizzy, despite the little head. The alcohol comes out of hiding. A deceptive beer - it starts hiding its strength and its filling capacities. I had to go slow on this one.

Bottled. A very lively beer when opened. The aroma is sweet caramel with spices. The color is an unclear brown with a fine light brown head, though fast disappearing. The flavor is slightly smoked, woody and with notes of tar. A really nice dubbel.
