This beer is golden, with a fine and dense foam. Its rich and fruity aromas offer a good balance between malt and yeast. It is soft on the palate with a sweet bitterness, just persistent.

Originally rated April 2005. Pours a slight hazy golden colour with amber highlights. The head is foamy with not bad retention, but the lacing is great. Man, this brew is pretty special. Hard to detect the nose and mouth. Carbonation is slow and light with tiny bubbles. The scent is spicy, nutty and dry. Mild though. The taste is earthy. The middle is mildly bitter with a smooth nut aftertaste. Very interesting brew, just expecting something less smooth. Two words - Earth, Nuts. If you don’t like those, stay away.

Bottle in Paris, 2006. Medium golden, very little head. Aroma of malt and yeast. Very malty, quite sweet flavor. Fruity. Some bitterness but not much. A touch strong. Something of that grassy, farmyard like taste that comes with other bieres de garde. Spicy. People talk about green apple. Is that what I taste? I don’t think so, but… A slightly bitter finish. Interesting. I can’t really tell what these flavors are, but they are quite original. It is a touch too sweet for me, but good.

Gut! Test vom 13.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,12,12,11,10,12 - 11,35

33cl bottle. Pours clear golden with a fine white head & lacings. Nose & taste is: Dusty, fruity, yeasty, barnyard- quite disappointing. Smooth, soft & sticky palate. Overall too sweet & too many off flavors.
