Fuller's Bengal Lancer is a traditional India Pale Ale. It is brewed using the finest English malt and Goldings hops to evoke memories of the first versions of this pale amber, distinctively hoppy and superbly refreshing style of beer.

Bottle at The Beehive, Battersea/Wandsworth (not sure where the boundary is). Nil aroma. A hazy amber. The white head soon fades. Medium bitter. Gets quite sharp. Some hidden sweetness. Light bodied. Slick. Flat. Long dry finish. Better than I expected. Unexpectedly hippy. A bit flat though.

Bottle. Nice slight caramel aroma. An incredibly gluggable ale that went down a treat as a taste of both home and fullers. Sometimes a little sharp on the alcohol.

Bottle at home with a balti curry. Possibly over chilled, but a smooth IPA with lots of bitter hops and a balanced maltiness. It complemented the curry perfectly, caressing the palate after the heat of the spices. Screw the Cobra, this is what I should be having in the future with my curry!

500ml bottle. Mostly clear golden colour with a two-three finger frothy white head. Aroma is quite mellow, some pale malt and some hops, citrus. Taste is malty, and surprisingly citrus, orange, grassy hops. Quite well balanced, bitter finish though fairly mild, moderate carbonation, a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good for an English style IPA though.

Bottle from Meny (Amager), Copenhagen - fuzzy golden orange pour with decent white head. Fruity and hoppy, with citrus tangerine, grapefruit, biscuit malt backing, some pine, herbal hoppy bitter finish. Surprisingly very good.
