Cask at the Crosse Keys, London EC3. Plus black with a small off white head, leaving good lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt and mocha. Sweetness is almost that of a sweet stout, with a light bitterness. Velvet smooth texture, body is rather light, soft carbonation. Light roasting to sweet finish. A good beer.

Bottle from Booths, MediaCityUK [071114]
Pitch black, big tan fluffy frothy head, good lacing
Aroma of soft burnt roast, charcoal, touch of dark fruits, some fruity coffee grounds
Taste of roasted malts, touch of burnt toast, some dark malts, bit of yeast, mellow dark coffee roast, dab of dark fruits
Palate - Soft carb. medium body, fairly bitter roasted malts. Finish is a bit dry, quite roasty
Overall - Not as good as I remember it when I had a bottle a few years ago, but it’s a decent stout, one of the better roasty one i’ve had

Sample at SBWF 2014. Almost black with a medium head. On the sweet side with light roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and some weak notes of fruit. Relaxed and easy to drink. An ok one.

A colablack beer with a quite weak and light beige head. The nose has roastiness, nice chocolate, some milky sourness, liquirice and coffee. Taste is roasted and that is quite dominating, black coffee and herbs, quite dry. Surprisingly long aftertaste even the body is quite light, low carbonation. Quite smooth. Succesfully and good beer. The roastiness is dominating but it’s not the only element.
